Marques Garrett Scholarship Fund
Removes the cost barrier for singers who earn a seat but need help getting to the podium.
The Marques Garrett Scholarship has been created to enhance the diversity of membership of the Festival Singers. Marques has been a singer and featured conductor in the Festival Singers of Florida and he has proactively recruited singers who enhance our diversity. Marques delights in being a Black man, a Black composer/conductor and he engages with members of the group with a sense of expectation that beauty and meaning will be found in our diversity.

Every season singers earn a place in the ensemble and then face the real cost of taking it — the drive across the state, a hotel the night before a concert, time away from paid work. The Marques Garrett Scholarship Fund exists so that cost is never the reason a qualified singer stays home.
We can reach our goal of 10 scholarships a year if we can raise $2,000, which will pay for membership and retreat fees for 10 members.
